1. Scope
This policy applies to the MURELI iOS app. MURELI saves an electronic-skincare plan, uses Apple's Screen Time capabilities to pause selected apps during that plan, and provides a wake alarm, completion records, sharing, and trusted-friend emergency unlock.
Our core commitment: We do not serve third-party advertising, use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, sell personal data, or use data to track you across apps or websites.
2. Data we handle
Processed only on your device:
- System Screen Time / Family Controls tokens representing the apps or categories you choose to pause. These tokens do not give MURELI access to content inside those apps.
- Bedtime and wake-time plans, weekend settings, plan status, language, onboarding status, and similar preferences.
- Electronic-skincare execution and completion records, streaks, and Managed Settings state needed to apply shielding.
- Limited on-device diagnostics used to investigate reliability, such as feature states, timestamps, and error codes. The current version does not upload these diagnostics to an independent analytics server.
Processed using iCloud:
- A trusted friend's display label, plan times (including the current cycle's start and end), shield state, cycle identifier, sync version, and unlock-request status.
- CloudKit records, share objects, and participant associations required to create and maintain a one-time Guardian invitation.
Actively shared by the user with another service:
- A completion share image contains the plan time range, streak, MURELI branding, and a public App Store download link. It excludes selected apps, Apple Account details, and friend information. Its QR code contains no personal identifier or tracking parameter. Further handling depends on the sharing service the user chooses.
Subscriptions: Apple handles purchases and billing. MURELI reads Apple-verified entitlements to decide whether features are available and does not receive card details or complete payment information.
Apple may process device, Apple Account, notification, and iCloud service information according to your system settings and Apple's own policies.
3. How we use data
We use the data above only to provide app functionality: saving and running plans, applying system shielding, showing Guardian status, sending unlock requests, syncing Guardian decisions, and maintaining the reliability and security of these features.
We do not use this data for advertising profiles, marketing analytics, or data-broker services.
4. iCloud and Guardian sharing
MURELI uses Apple services including CloudKit, Family Controls / Screen Time, Managed Settings, and Apple Push Notification service. Emergency unlock uses a private CloudKit zone and CKShare:
- The invitation link is not pre-bound to a named account. The first Apple Account signed in to iCloud that successfully accepts the one-time invitation becomes the friend participant, so the link should be sent privately to someone you trust.
- A Guardian receives only the shared state needed for Guardian functionality—not content inside shielded apps, browsing history, photos, contacts, or precise location.
- Shared data is transferred and stored by Apple's iCloud infrastructure. The developer does not operate an independent data server.
5. Retention, revocation, and deletion
On-device data remains until you change or clear the related plan, delete the app, or iOS removes it under system rules. iCloud data remains while needed to provide Guardian functionality and may be affected by your iCloud sync and backup settings.
When the owner disconnects, MURELI removes the local emergency-unlock relationship and asks CloudKit to delete the related state record and share object. The other person's access is confirmed revoked only after that CloudKit operation succeeds. If it fails, reconnect to the network and retry as directed by the app.
For help accessing or deleting relevant data, contact us using the email below. Because the data is stored in your Apple/iCloud environment, we may need limited information to locate your request. Never send us a password, verification code, or sensitive account credential.
6. Your choices
- You can revoke Screen Time / Family Controls, iCloud, or notification permissions in iOS Settings. Some features may then stop working.
- You can stop Guardian sharing to revoke the Guardian's access.
- You can uninstall the app to remove on-device data. Copies in iCloud or device backups remain subject to Apple's settings and retention rules.
- You may contact us for assistance with access, correction, or deletion requests.
7. Children and age
MURELI is a personal tool that helps users choose when to put their phone down and manage bedtime app use. It is not designed as a child-directed parental-control service and must not be used to supervise another adult's device. The app does not actively collect age, date of birth, or proof of guardianship. Minors should use it with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian and in accordance with local law and Apple Account requirements.
8. Security and international use
We rely on Apple's app sandbox, system permissions, CloudKit private databases, and share permissions to limit access. No transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security.
When Apple/iCloud services are used across countries or regions, storage and processing locations may be determined by Apple's service architecture, your account region, and applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as app features or legal requirements change. Material changes will be described on this page, in app update notes, or through an appropriate in-app notice, and the effective date will be updated.
